Born in South Africa and having lived there most my life, the last few years have been spent living and working in the UK. With the continent at my doorstep and easy access to the rest of the world, my interest in both travel and photography has grown since that time. A weekend photography course in Stellenbosh, South Africa three years ago increased the enthusiasm and the photographs captured since then are included here. I still have a normal day job and try to travel at least once a month, which often entails a weekend in a European city.
The idea behind this website arose after a seven month trip through Australia, NZ and South East Asia a few years back. Friends and family appreciated the monthly update they received in the form of a monthly email entitled “Nielsen’s Column” and this explains the website’s title. It has taken a few years to finally get around to setting up the website up, so hope you enjoy.
The website will be continuously updated as and when new photos are ready to be displayed. As well as that I have a blog which will capture my thoughts, experiences and general news regarding the UK, my travels and world events.
Please feel free to contact me as any feedback or questions will be gladly appreciated.
CARPE DIEM!
